Antigua de Guatemala
November 19-22, 2016
What a lovely, lovely place. The weather is perfect (pretty much in the 70’s all year long) and this old colonial town is a delight at every corner. The extensive remains of some of the churches destroyed in a late 1700’s earthquake are even more breathtaking than the restored buildings. This is a lovely, laid-back Guatemalan town that is swiftly becoming international. We spent a delightful couple of days wandering around the city and the highlight was the amazing sight of a near-by (5-10 miles) erupting volcano that we could see from the roof deck of our B&B…really a first-time experience!
