Dresden, Germany

August 18 and 19, 2013

Dresden has come a long, long, way since it was almost entirely destroyed in the war. This once glorious city has restored what one can only imagine is a great deal of the historical splendor. Ornate palaces, cathedrals and opera houses dominate the old part of the city and great care has been taken to restore many of these buildings to their former glory. No royal would feel out of place amidst the grandeur that is Dresden today.
We found Dresden to be a wonderful place to wander around and photograph amazing buildings. There was a very summery, touristy, café celebration feeling. We had dinner at a place serving up old style Bavarian fare complete with staff dressed in medieval attire. The venison was a touch gamey, but it was definitely worth the experience.

We were also lucky enough to experience a fantastic sunset, so watch out for many sunset pictures b/ c I love them!
